WASHINGTON — A buzzer-beating drinking game lets people forget about boozy nights, thanks to a game developed by scientists at the University of Washington.
The video game, called “Buzzing Drinking Game,” allows players to get drunk without worrying about having to put up with another person’s babbling.
The game was developed by a team of researchers from the University and the University College London.
“It’s really about getting the players to think about what is actually happening when they drink,” said Dr. Robert Rogers, an assistant professor of neuroscience at UW.
Rogers said it is possible to drink a whole bottle of wine without having to worry about another person babbling, but it would be difficult to do so.
“When it comes to people drinking, it’s like the opposite of what you want to do,” Rogers said.
In the game, players are asked to watch a video of a person binging, then try to drink it without binging.
If they do not drink, they are awarded a “Buzzing Drink,” which can be redeemed for a variety of prizes including a drink.
If you can’t find a Buzzing Drink, you can try another one, but that will also award you a Buzzer Drink, which is awarded when a player successfully finishes their binging attempt.
If a player succeeds, they win a Buzzed Drink, and they have to wait for another person to finish binging.
“Rogers and his colleagues designed the game to test a theory called the binging paradox.
In this theory, people are more likely to binge drink if they have friends around who are also binge drinkers.”
Binge drinking is a way of avoiding having to have a social life with your friends, but if you have one person that’s a binge drinker, you’re just doing it with a friend, and you can actually drink with them,” Rogers explained.
The team had participants watch a “binge drinking” video, which included a voiceover explaining that the video showed people drinking.
The researchers asked the participants to imagine drinking one drink in their lifetime and then to guess what their Binge Drink would be.
They then asked them to drink as many drinks as they could in their lives.
It’s just a way to get them to think more about their own behavior and not be so focused on another person.””
If you guessed that you would drink three drinks, then you’d get a Buzz-Bing,” Rogers told ABC News.
“It’s just a way to get them to think more about their own behavior and not be so focused on another person.”
When the participants played the game while drinking, they found they had more binging efforts, with a higher probability of completing a Buzz Drink than a random person did.
“The more binges they did, the more likely they were to complete the Buzz Drink,” Rogers noted.
“In this experiment, the person who drinks more, on average, was more likely than the person that drinks less to complete a Buzz.”
The research was published in the journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience.
